FERMA Trade Fair – Poland’s Largest Specialized Exhibition for Livestock Production Professionals
Two exhibition halls in Łódź once again hosted the FERMA Trade Fair in 2026, the leading meeting point for professionals in cattle, swine, and poultry production. This year, 201 exhibitors showcased a comprehensive range of products and technologies essential for modern livestock farming—from genetics, feed and feeding systems, livestock management software, veterinary medicines, milking robots, equipment and livestock housing, to forage harvesting and preservation machinery, as well as projects and solutions for agricultural biogas plants. The event attracted 18,336 livestock production specialists from across Poland, confirming FERMA’s position as the country’s premier professional trade fair for the livestock sector. Companies from 13 countries were represented, including South Korea, China, Pakistan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, and Denmark. The fair was officially opened by Stefan Krajewski, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who also awarded Gold Medals and “New Product” distinctions to companies introducing innovative solutions to the Polish market.
Scientific and Technical Conference – A Key Element for Nearly 30 Years
As in every edition, the scientific and technical conference remained an essential part of FERMA.
Day 1 – Poultry, Beef Cattle, and Renewable Energy
The Polish Chamber of Poultry Producers and Feed Manufacturers organized the Poultry Farming Forum, focusing on major transformation trends in both the Polish and global poultry industries. An important part of the forum was a panel titled “Poultry Farming in Times of Plague”, where veterinary experts advised producers on navigating the sector’s current challenges. A session on cyberattacks—an increasingly common threat to farm owners—also drew significant interest. The first day continued with the Beef Cattle Farming Forum, organized by the Polish Association of Beef Cattle Producers, where participants discussed the emerging challenges facing the beef industry. The final session of the day, the Renewable Energy Forum – Biogas/Biomethane, moderated by Prof. Jacek Dach (Poznań University of Life Sciences), offered practical guidance on implementing biogas investments on farms and the effective use of digestate. Experts also deliberated whether renewable energy investments are becoming a necessity for livestock farms and whether viable alternatives to biogas exist.
Day 2 – Swine and Dairy Cattle
The second conference day focused on swine and dairy cattle producers. During the Swine Farming Forum, Dr. Tomasz Schwarz (University of Agriculture in Kraków) led a discussion panel exploring the question: “Mercosur, Poland, Ukraine – What Lies Ahead?” The program also included a presentation of an algorithm designed to increase the profitability and economic efficiency of swine production. For dairy farmers, the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Milk Producers prepared the forum “Threats and Opportunities for the Dairy Sector.” A screening of the film “A World Without Cows” attracted considerable attention. Also on the second day, the Łódź Regional Chamber of Agriculture hosted a debate titled “What Is the Future of Polish Agriculture?”, featuring Deputy Minister of Agriculture Adam Nowak. Awards and Gala
During the fair, a Competition Committee composed of members of the Łódź Regional Chamber of Agriculture honored innovative products and technologies with 8 Gold Medals and 4 “New Product” Awards. The complete list of winners can be found at:

This year’s FERMA also featured a regional gala celebrating the winners of the Mistrzowie Agro (AgriMasters) plebiscite—individuals whose daily work, commitment, and passion strengthen rural Poland. The nationwide competition, organized by regional editorial teams including Dziennik Łódzki, once again highlighted the many extraordinary people working within local communities.
Visitors were again invited to participate in a prize competition. The grand prize—a Swimer Eco Comfort Line 2500-liter diesel tank, sponsored by BydłoMleczne.pl and TÜV SÜD Polska—was won by Mr. Adrian Gocałek, a cattle breeder from Zalesie in the Łódź region.
